iOS 7 and Nausea

I would like to apologise from the bottom of my heart for not posting in the last few days. I have been busy with school work. tPenguinLTG recommended that I create some kind of schedule to give my readers something to refer to, so I will. At some point, it’ll be posted on the About page, but I’ll notify you on my Message from the Admin. Thanks for your patience and for staying with Tech Gum!

As we all know, Apple released their new operating system for their mobile devices: the iOS 7.

It has been named the largest OS update recorded for the company. Many have jumped into iOS 7, but did not think of the possible consequences.

Reports say that iPhone users feel nauseated while using their device with the updated iOS 7, probably because of the new graphical effects (zoom, change in brightness etc). Hilarious!

I applaud Apple for giving them more hate as they already have. I’d say 2025, they’ll disappear from the market and into oblivion. I also would like to congratulate Apple users for finally getting an Android. That’s right. ANDROID! Good job!

If you have the iOS 7 and you’ve experienced the same thing, leave a comment below! I love comments!

My Thoughts on Microsoft and Nokia

About a week ago, Microsoft purchased Nokia for $7.6 billion. This is their way of entering the smartphone competition. Now that they have such a prominent and well-known company under them, what’s next?

Android’s KITKAT 4.4

Android recently announced that their next version of Android for all Android phones will be KITKAT 4.4.

As much as everyone would have thought it would be Key Lime Pie, or some other dessert name that begin with “k”, it seems fair that it would be KitKat. Think about it…

Nestlé is already a household name, and the fact that they’re using a very popular chocolate bar just amps it up even more. Plus, it’s kind of katchy (Ba-dum tssk). Anyways, I can’t wait for it to come out. I only hope that it will improve my phone’s battery life because right now, it’s not as good as I expected.

Also, I love how they purposely mocked Apple with a commercial of their own. Thank you Android!

The Future is Here

The future is fast approaching, especially when it comes to technology.

One thing that has changed immensely in the past decade are cellphones. It started as a portable device that is capable of making phone calls. Multiple things are added later on, like a built in music player and camera. We, too, have adapted to this change of technology and moreover, began a revolution for smartphones.

When our smartphones break, however, we can’t really do much. All we can do is get it repaired. If not, our next option is get it replaced. That’s a problem both for the consumer and for the environment.

But, what if our phones were customizable like a custom built PC? What if, instead of buying a generic smartphone, you can build yours? What if, in the case that your phone breaks, and only new parts are need, you can simply buy and install one yourself?

Introducing PhoneBloks! A phone worth keeping!

Although this might still be a concept, it’s a great one! We can only hope that this will turn out to be a great project! Plus, it’s like a Lego phone! Sweet!

Motorola ATRIX HD LTE

Motorola has been a powerful adversary in the mobile industry. They’ve released multiple phones such as the RAZR, ATRIX and the coming MOTO X.

Honestly, this phone looks amazing. The design is phenomenal and the look of it is just awesome!

I personally own a Motorola phone: the Motorola Atrix HD LTE.

It’s a pretty “old” phone. I got a few months back. When I purchased it, the phone was free for any contracted plan. I usually pay $22/month, so it was a steal. The only reason why it was free was because they were going to take it off the market. I actually got a dying phone. It’s not a good thing, but hey, at least I have a rare phone! Well, not necessarily.

The phone is great. It’s built to perform with a Dual Core SnapDragon Processor. It has 1 GB RAM and 8 GB of internal memory. What’s cool about this phone is that it is built with a Kevlar body and Gorilla glass screen. I can literally drop this on the floor and it wouldn’t break the screen or break the phone. It’s awesome.

It has the Android Ice Cream Sandwich Nexus OS. The GUI is beautiful, but I wish it would be smoother. At times it does lag and with the minimal RAM, sometimes apps crash or even the OS crashes.

The design is beautiful. At first I was not used to the 5” size of the screen, but I’m fine with it now. It has an awesome gun metal black design with the Motorola name on top of its speakers.

Overall, the design is great, the processing is fine and the phone is sturdy. Truly, this one is built for me and my accident-prone hands. I give it a 7 out of 10.
